Last week we helped Frank Sinatra pass over the rainbow bridge. 🌈 I try not to have favorites, but I would be lying if I said Frank was not my favorite of the dozens of pets I have fostered, provided hospice for or adopted.
Frank was a larger than life personality. He came in to Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society in 2016 as a stray from Salisbury beach. The people that found him said he was living off pizza and scraps from the food stands along the board walk. He was a chubby faced, intact male that clearly was living at large on the beach. He could punch a person with both front paws and leave a bruise, assuming he didn’t hook you with his nails. Every prospective adopter that came through the door of the shelter, would see Frank sitting on the front desk and try to pet him despite the staff yelling not to touch him. Many were scratched.
After a few months in the shelter and battling a virus head cold while there, I finally decided Frank had to come to my house. Adopters liked his good looks but upon meeting Frank didn’t understand or appreciate his quirky personality. He was a strong, independent curmudgeon who only let certain people in on his terms. I am going to miss Frank messing up every puzzle or board game, walking on my head/face at night to steal my pillow out from under me, and miss his derpy stare and yowls. I hope you are at peace now Frank, maybe by a beach somewhere living life to the fullest and I hope to see you again one day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
