We will miss you Charlie. You gave us the senior years of your life as the sweet and stubborn sentry of Salem street- spending your days looking out onto the yard and the woods between naps in the sun. I will forever remember the sound of your nails clicking across the tile floor, the rattle and rap of your collar and ears flapping as you shake your head, and your softly spoken “bhfff”. Over 18 years you filled our hearts as your black fur turned white with age, now you can rest.

Charlie, you were one of a kind big boooy! Unique in ways I’ve never seen in a dog, and probably won’t again. You always did things your way, never losing that stubborn ability of yours. So today, on your 18th Birthday, I want to say I love and miss you. I’m sure you’ve found a new “Channel” to watch!

Baby Cheeky. Thank you for accepting me in your old age, and for letting me smack your butt, and occasionally for breaking into a gallop. Thank you also for never slipping backward out of your leash and collar and bolting for the road, on the few times I was allowed to walk with you. I know the wild fauna which dares to dwell in the woods around 1187 will miss your bark. I will miss your little huffs, seeing you at your post by the window, and the way you liked to fluff your blanket before bed. I suppose at last, it is time for bed.

Sweet Charlie, You were always your own man doing everything in your own odd way and giving us lots of laughs. You took over the house while taking over our hearts.I will miss that ferocious bark at passersby and all the “old man” noises you made. We were fortunate to have you for so many years. Sleep well big boy and know there will never be another Charlie Moore Webster.
